The Rocksberg Spelling Farm is nestled on 480 acres of picturesque countryside in
Rocksberg, Queensland and has been providing spelling, breaking and pre-training
services to the thoroughbred racing industry since 1993.
As horse health and safety is our primary goal at Rocksberg Spelling Farm, this well
equipped facility boasts over 30 safe, fully electrified post and rail paddocks and
spelling yards. All are sheltered or stabled and include automatic water on improved
pasture. Safe feed storage as well as box stables, round yard, arena, race barriers
and wash bays allow for a comfortable and secure environment for the convalescing
horse, the speller, pre-trainer or breaker just starting it’s career.
The exercise and nutritional requirements of these equine athletes are closely monitored
and adapted to suite individual needs. Our many years of experience and expert horsemanship
skills make for a winning combination with the racehorse trainers and ensures that
horses get the best chance of winning on the track.
Rocksberg Spelling Farm offers a wide variety of services including 24 hour supervision,
farrier and vet services on call as well as barrier training and expert handling
and breaking in of young stock.
Many successful racehorses have been broken in, pre-trained or spelled here at Rocksberg
Spelling Farm including 2000 Melbourne Cup winner, Brew (pictured above) and Dual
Group 1 winner, Virage De Fortune (pictured left) and now Phelan Ready, winner of
the Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) & the 2009 Golden Slipperpictured below.
